SUMMER CAMP AT COTTONWOOD

Camps at Cottonwood are about PLAY
We believe play is the catalyst for deep learning and connection.  Learning to collaborate, following one's intuition, and developing strong communication skills all emerge as young people play together.

Camps at Cottonwood are about ADVENTURE
Cottonwood facilitators can turn anything into an adventure. Whether we are exploring the sidewalk outside Cottonwood,  the wildness of our city parks, or the endless resources of our city, adventure plays an important part in our camps.

Camps at Cottonwood are about CREATIVITY
Given the time and space to decide, people choose creativity as a way to express themselves or to connect with others.  Cottonwood commits to holding that space for young people to be and what follows is a burst of creative offerings and strong bonds among campers.

Cottonwood NYC offers dynamic, collaborative, ever-changing camp experiences all summer and throughout the year during school holidays.  Our mixed-age camps include young people ages 5-12 and give all campers the opportunity to pursue self-directed projects and plan experiences.   All the while, facilitators foster the growth of a collaborative community as they identify individual and common interests and offer adventures and projects each day/week.

At Cottonwood NYC, young people help design their camp experience.   Capture the flag, lemonade stands, song writing, scavenger hunts, museum visits, discovery walks, sewing projects, theatrical productions, cartoon drawing, and science experiments are just a few examples of the magic that happens at Cottonwood.
